In this book you can find many poems. Every poem has a meaning; either literally of metaphorically. It might not be clear immediately, but once you figure it out, you'll understand.

The reason why I picked the title ‘Sober Thoughts’ is because I don’t think I’m a poet and I don’t consider my writings to be poetry. I’m rather a thinker and that’s what I write about.

Als drieëntachtigjarige houd ik me bezig met het produceren van eigengemaakte boekjes. Dit is er één van. Wellicht impulsief. De gedichten gaan over het accepteren van het verleden en het loslaten van angst. Het moedigt aan om in het moment te leven.

Resultaat van veertigdagenproject is een dichtbundel met 40 gedichten over 'hoop'

Karen de Boer (1967) woont en werkt in Den Haag. In haar vrije tijd is zij dichter en maakt zij collages in combinatie met teksten. Zij dicht zowel vormvast (sonnet, haiku) als vrij. 'Ik heb mijn zinnen op een krans gezet' is haar eerste sonnettenkrans.

De strandbeesten van Theo Jansen, die gedreven door de wind over het strand lopen, inspireerden de dichter tot een gedichtencyclus.
