About Renato Soares
Renato Soares began his photography career in 1986 and has since traveled to capture the diverse forms of cultural expression of Brazil’s ethnic groups. His connection with the Indigenous world dates back to childhood and was solidified through his early interactions with tribes in remote areas of the Amazon, as well as through his deep friendship with the sertanista Orlando Villas Bôas.
His photographic work has been featured in major exhibitions such as O Último Kuarup at MASP (2006) and the traveling exhibition A Última Viagem de Orlando Villas Bôas, which toured 12 Brazilian capitals. His talent was also recognized in Paris in a group exhibition at the Palais de la Découverte.
