Synopsis

She lost the love of her life in a tragic accident. He is rich, handsome and has a knack for getting involved with the wrong women. A year ago, Holly’s whole world was shattered when the police informed her of her father and boyfriend’s motorway accident that took their lives. Now, she is ready to start again. Holly turns her back on London and moves to the Scottish Highlands with her Friesian mare, Rosie, to start a new chapter in her life. While Rosie immediately settles in at her new home, a Little Horse-Yard in Cawdor, Holly often finds her thoughts wander back to her old life and lost love. But her new friends, her slightly crazy flatmates and the other horse owners at the yard, slowly help her settle and start to see the good things in life again. Particularly Aiden, the incredibly handsome and rich best friend of the yard owner, who makes Holly feel like she has known him forever. When he invites her to join him on a Stunt-Riding weekend in the Scottish Borders she gets a feeling deep inside her she’d thought lost forever. Could it be that we can actually fall in love again? That a broken heart can beat again? Can fate really offer us a second chance for happines?

About Rebecca Loebbert

Rebecca Loebbert
Rebecca Loebbert was born in Essen, Germany, in 1999. Even as a little girl, she loved to make up stories and regale anyone who wanted listen (or not) with long and imaginative tales. When she was twelve, she began writing books about her family life and her dogs. Then, after graduating from high school, she moved to Inverness, Scotland, where she started her degree in Scottish History and Literature at the University of the Highlands and Islands. At the same time she began to work on her first novel, a time-travel story published by Oeverbos under the title "Der Keltische Gobelin." Her biggest passion besides history are horses. Having sat on horseback since the age of three, she finally made her dream of an own horse come true in 2022. Little Silvano does not only canter with her through the romantic Scottish Highlands, he also inspired her book-series "Der kleine Pferdehof in den Highlands". She is currently working on the third volume. Today, Rebecca works for the Estates Team of the National Trust for Scotland, which takes care of the preservation of the famous Culloden Battlefield. There she helps maintain the archaeological landscape, looks after their herd of fluffy Highland cows and does cavalry demonstrations with the two Highland Ponies that live at the battlefield. When she's not roaming the Scottish hills in search of new Inspiration in her free-time, she can be found at the horse stables or learning a new language.
