The suitcase of memories

Sixteen-year-old Ksenija hasn’t celebrated Christmas since her mother passed away three years ago. For Ksenija, the holiday is a painful reminder of loss, overshadowed by memories of their last Christmas together when they decorated the house with twinkling lights and handmade ornaments. One winter evening, while rummaging through boxes in the attic for an arts project due at school, Ksenija stumbles upon her mother's old Christmas decorations carefully packed away. Among them is a beautiful snow globe that must have been made during one of their many creative afternoons together. Each ornament comes with its own story—stories she's avoided but now feels compelled to share. As she brings these treasures back down from the attic, Ksenija finds herself transported into flashbacks filled with laughter and warmth amidst the snowy backdrop. With just a week until Christmas Eve, she decides to confront her grief by honoring her mother’s memory: She starts decorating their home once more, inspired by those flickering moments caught between joy and sadness.
