Naturalism 1 -"This Spring! in every garden roses bloom, On every bough a thousand nightingales; There is no mead where I can set my foot, Pray there be none more Burnt - in Heart - than I. The Roses bloom upon the breast of Spring, From every bough a thousand Bulbuls sing, But Earth contains no Pleasure-ground for me, A Burning Heart to every joy I bring. 1-'This Spring, and birds are singing: The roses hear, and heed. And I alone am weary, 2-My heart for grief does bleed; I cannot tread the mead. 3-I saw a rose within a thorn in bloom And asked, 4-Can your presence adorn my room?" But, said the rose, 5-"To claim me as a friend, You must await with time for my perfume." 6-Seven days the anemones last upon the heights, On river-brink the violets last seven days; From town to town will I proclaim this truth, 7-"But seven days can rosy cheeks keep faith!"
