Synopsis

Jake Miller aka Jakob Schulz is one of Germany’s most famous actors – always caught in a scandal, usually in relation to women. When he comes to the peace and quiet of the Scottish Highlands to learn horse-riding for a new movie he’s going to star in, Alyson is sure: this arrogant bloke who seems to think no woman would ever be able to resist him will certainly not make her heart flutter in the slightest. Not even with Christmas approaching and her desire to spend the dark, long nights in the warm embrace of someone she loves. Things take a turn when Alyson’s horse Hamlet gets seriously ill, and Jake suddenly shows a caring, sympathetic side of himself she would have never expected. She slowly starts to wonder whether there could actually be more to him than his shallow appearance allows anyone to see. A stolen kiss and romantic night as the first snow starts to cover the Highlands around them make Alyson think that maybe, only maybe, Jake could be the man of her dreams. But then Jake’s past catches up with him and threatens to endanger the happiness he and Alyson are just beginning to find …

About Rebecca Loebbert

Rebecca Loebbert
Rebecca Loebbert was born in Essen, Germany, in 1999. Even as a little girl, she loved to make up stories and regale anyone who wanted listen (or not) with long and imaginative tales. When she was twelve, she began writing books about her family life and her dogs. Then, after graduating from high school, she moved to Inverness, Scotland, where she started her degree in Scottish History and Literature at the University of the Highlands and Islands. At the same time she began to work on her first novel, a time-travel story published by Oeverbos under the title "Der Keltische Gobelin." Her biggest passion besides history are horses. Having sat on horseback since the age of three, she finally made her dream of an own horse come true in 2022. Little Silvano does not only canter with her through the romantic Scottish Highlands, he also inspired her book-series "Der kleine Pferdehof in den Highlands". She is currently working on the third volume. Today, Rebecca works for the Estates Team of the National Trust for Scotland, which takes care of the preservation of the famous Culloden Battlefield. There she helps maintain the archaeological landscape, looks after their herd of fluffy Highland cows and does cavalry demonstrations with the two Highland Ponies that live at the battlefield. When she's not roaming the Scottish hills in search of new Inspiration in her free-time, she can be found at the horse stables or learning a new language.
