The Time has Come

'The Time has Come' is the author's favourite line from Lewis Carroll's 'The Walrus and the Carpenter'. These words preceded many an end-of-year lesson and, as the main impetus for the anthology was leaving poems, it seemed a suitable title. The collection includes leaving poems written for the Upper Sixth and Form Fours of Chisipite Senior School over the author's nearly 18 years at the school. As well as the above, the collection includes 'occasion' poems for individuals or specific events as well as a version of a familiar short story written for an A-Level Critical Appreciation class on children's literature. Finally, 'The Time has Come' includes poems written by the author's two children. Isabella has inherited a strong love of poetry and its power in communicating emotion. Casimir is a scientist with a passion for literature.
