Synopsis
This short book will help you decide whether you should go with a lawyer, a paralegal or prepaid law services. It will also help you in seeing what you’d be getting into in choosing legal representation. You’d get a glimpse into fee structures, how to be professional with the “professionals” and how to know when you actually need a lawyer for the situation you may be facing!
About Dr. Gillian A. Thompson
Coming from a home of lawyers, I dare say that I have somewhat of a very good handle on the subject. Not to mention having had my own fair share of court cases, having obtained straight A’s in Law at university level, and having become a precedent setter in a landmark immigration case in Canada, singlehanded without any legal representation, one could say that I literally wrote the book on it.
I would go further to say that the aegis of law is in my blood, in my DNA, as is the more hip term to be used. You see, not only was my dearly beloved father, who passed away in December 1985 a lawyer, but so was my second oldest sister, who’s also passed away, and so are my eldest brother, and last but not least, my sister who’s a year and a half older than I am, is also a qualified attorney-at-law. So, what happened to me? Well, despite not as yet being called to the bar, my pedigree, biological framework and the immediate environment in which I was bred, it has all put me there!
