Due to the new drive and centrality of goats and sheep production in the developing world the authors saw it fit to write this book based on selected topical research issues and giving their implications for management consideration. The book is unique because it discusses aspects of goat and sheep research as one entity, unlike most previous books that have presented goat and sheep research issues as contrasts. The style of presentation is in form of reviews designated as units based on specific research aspect of goats and sheep production and their implications for management. The strength of the book is enshrined in its presentation of scientific insights and highlighting some gaps, while at the same time taking into account conflicting results and under-examined areas in goat and sheep research and production.
