Synopsis
This book is answering some of the questions about refugees. It gives a new hope to refugees for a more dignified and self-reliant life. It intends to develop an understanding of what a refugee does, needs and support needed to them. The UNHCR noted that most people failed to be guaranteed and protect their basic human rights and physical security by their own government.
The result is that people seek asylum to another country for protection and become refugees with implications for the enjoyment of fundamental human rights and freedoms. The host country should not force them to return, only ensure that refugees benefit from economic and social rights as accorded to the foreigner residents of the country of asylum.
Service from humanity and humanitarian agencies acknowledge that serving refugees is more important than self-interest and put the needs of refugees ahead of their own. The basic social services include health care, education, water, food assistance and many others. The approaches of helping refugees are Self-reliance, Development Assistance for Refugees, Refugee for Host Population Empowerment, and others are well explained.
