Recollections’

This is a no holds barred account, my life as I see it. Born into a poor family, I invite you to follow my journey through life, eventually achieving millionaire status. I describe life at the time I was born, nineteen thirty-eight, along with what life was like during world war two. My school days, which are a mile away from school life today. My family, why my dad left home, and a step-dad who took over. My time as a Boy Scout, the lessens it taught me. A flying trip to London, alone, at fourteen years old. My time as a soldier, three years in her majesty’s service. Courtship, my in-laws, my marriage. Homes I have had, the work to modernise them. Work, its distractions, disappointments, achievements. Pilot training, through to qualifying. The flying club, and airports visited. My wife’s cancer and my affair. My holidays around the world, taken with family, friends, or girlfriends.
