 Ramón David León
Nacido en Cumaná, periodista autodidacta, escritor y diplomático. Fué embajador de Venezuela en Perú y en Cuba. Fundador de diarios regionales -El Foco, Pluma y Tinta, Satiricón y El Heraldo-- en su ciudad natal. En Caracas, ocupó la jefatura de redacción del diario El Universal. Fundó el diario nacional La Esfera en 1927, y fué su director por espacio de treinta años,hasta 1957. Obtuvo el premio internacional de periodismo María Moors Cabot, otorgado por la Universidad de Columbia, en 1951.
