What's the best way to cook a hedgehog?

And what happens when a young Dublin boy has to move to 1950s rural Ireland and grow up without the creature comforts of city life?
Join Michael Finn as he journeys from 'jackeen' to 'culchie' in Skilligolee, a charming, funny and, often, deeply poignant account of country life in rural County Meath in an Ireland wrestling with its past and a boy looking to find his future.
About Michael Finn
Michael Finn was born in 1945 in Dublin's Donnybrook but family circumstances saw him grow up on a small-holding in a townland near Rathmore, Co Meath. Like many of his countrymen Finn left Ireland in the 1960s finding work on the railroads and building sites of a post-war England.
After a chance encounter led him to climb a chimney as a bet, he went on to found Finns Steeplejacks, a successful company based in England's industrial north-east. After expanding across the UK, Ireland and Europe, Finn retired to follow his passion of ballroom dancing.
Running dance classes from his Haybarn Studio in Ireland, he founded Peacock Dance Company which ran ballroom dance events across the north-east of Ireland.
He now splits his time as a writer between Ireland and England.
