Jaka Tarub and the Seven Angels

Hunting in the forest, young Jaka Tarub spies seven angels bathing in a hidden spring — and hides the shawl of the youngest, Nawang Wulan, so she cannot fly home. Their life together on earth is happy, until the day she discovers the rice that never runs out, and the secret buried in the barn. One of Java's most haunting love stories, about desire, deception, and the distance between heaven and earth.
