On the halfway mark, fog suddenly set in and Perdita's gloomy feeling returned. "Paps, shouldn't we wait until the weather gets better?" Perdita asked anxiously. "No, we're almost there and I can still see everything!" her father smiled and waved off her concern. The fog grew thicker and Perdita's fear increased. Suddenly and unexpectedly, lights approached on their side. Perdita only heard a loud, tinny crash and her upper body flew forward, and it grew dark around her. She came to again only when she heard voices and the sound of metal being sliced by the screeching noise. She looked around confused at her father. He was slumped lifelessly on the driver's seat, covered in blood.
