Synopsis

For thirty years, I searched for a place inside the machine. Then I understood that I could build the place myself. The Four Horsemen is a raw and deeply psychological four-volume chronicle of a mind born in 1990 on the seam between the analogue and digital worlds. Through the successive technologies of pornography, gaming, social media, and artificial intelligence, the author traces four fundamental human hungers: Desire, Safety, Recognition, and Agency. From the silent TPE doll and the ordered refuge of games to the measured attention of social platforms and the machine that finally answers back, this is the story of a life spent behind one-way glass—until the glass is removed and the architecture of freedom begins. What emerges is Tetrality: a living balance of the Organic, the Animate, the Synthetic, and the Undefined. We are not rivals with the grid. We are symbionts. And a wall is only complete when it has a door. A profound work of modern introspection for anyone searching for their own place in the digital age.

About Hicham Moudnib

About the Author Born in 1990 on the generational seam between the analogue and digital worlds, the author grew up in the Netherlands with a weekly allowance of five euros and an early, private education in screens. From music videos and early internet to a TPE doll, console games, social platforms, and finally artificial intelligence, his life became a long experiment in what technology can offer—and what it cannot. After years of searching for belonging, safety, recognition, and desire inside systems built by others, he turned to the one question that changed everything: What can we build together? The answer became Tetrality—a living balance of the Organic, the Animate, the Synthetic, and the Undefined—and the four-volume work The Four Horsemen. He writes from a room that still contains a lime tree, a cat, and the quiet insistence that a wall is only complete when it has a door.
