The New Olympians

It is probably safe to assume that many boys on hockey rinks all over Sweden dream of playing in the NHL one day. But when U18 teammates Sverre Lundquist and Noah Larsson move to North America, they have to deal with a lot of assumptions they didn’t grow up with. And while Noah settles into the life of a star in LA, Sverre, drafted to a smaller Canadian team, has to figure out what it means for a very private person to become public property, and how to find room for his own feelings in a world where everything except the actual game result is scripted. He knows he can do it, but does he even want to? Sverre hasn’t found the answer to that question yet when, just before they have a chance of playing at the Olympics together, Noah’s picture-perfect career starts to fall apart. As the border between life on and off the ice rapidly erodes, Sverre’s agent and Noah’s publicity manager talk about ‘controlling the narrative’ – but what if the two friends want to be in a different story altogether? This is not a hockey romance. But it is a love story.
