Sofia is a painter who lives alone, surrounded by canvases, oil paint, and the distant company of her cat, Amadeus. No one has ever loved her back the way she gives love — until the night she dreams, for the first time, of a man she's never seen. The next morning, she paints him without thinking. And that's when he speaks to her, from inside the canvas itself. David has no past, no memories, no world of his own — he exists only where Sofia has painted him. And yet, he's the most real thing she has ever touched. Between them lies only a border of paint yet to dry, and a cat with the name of a musician but the soul of a painter, watching over both worlds as if he already knows more than he should.
