MY MOTHER'S TESTAMENT

My Mother's Testament is a novel inspired by a true story. It retraces the heartbreaking journey of DIBANDA MBOMBO Bernadette, a courageous mother who, after her husband lost his job following the tribal conflicts of the 1990s in the Democratic Republic of Congo, carried the burden of her entire family alone. A farmer, trader, Munkoyo vendor, Kenyan market trader, barter traveler and restorer in a mining quarry, she fought tirelessly to provide a future for her children. Despite injustice, humiliation, poverty, and hardship, she never lost her faith in God. On the eve of her death, she passed on to her son a priceless inheritance: not material possessions, but a deep faith, a sense of dignity and absolute trust in God. A few days later, an accident followed by medical complications put an end to his earthly fight. Through this poignant testimony, Ange Raphaël MUKENDI pays tribute to his mother and, beyond her, to all the women who, in silence and sacrifice, dedicate their lives to the survival and future of their families.
