Synopsis

The Glass City Avant-Garde Magazine, its title and cover painting, symbolizes transparency. I began the Glass City project 45 years ago, aiming to research the philosophical and cultural implications of clarity. I made glass sculptures and created oil paintings and photographs. Designed modest choreographies that were never performed, and wrote poetry and books that were never published. As a university teacher, I was confronted with the many marvelous ideas from students, who were forced in a rigid system of writing, killing their creativity, only to find out 45 years later that nothing in universities has changed, nor in the artistic world. Culture should not be a tradition of power, nor morality. Such terror is as if asking an ignorant drunkard which way leads out of the shadows of the slums of the city. The epithet "Culture Uncensored" implies honesty, avant-garde creativity in diversity, and artistic independence. It aims at respect, empathy for makers in all disciplines, and ethical responsibility by all involved individuals. It seeks questions rather than generalizing answers. It invites the wisdom of abstraction rather than the fake power of what pretends to be objectivity
