Synopsis
An Ancient Mirror. A Missing Boy. A Reality Twisted Beyond Comprehension.
George Canevin is living a quiet life as a tutor at a New England boarding school until the arrival of a mysterious, antique mirror retrieved from a decaying estate. The mirror, originally from Copenhagen, seems ordinary at first glance, but a fifteen-year-old student named Robert Grandison quickly becomes fascinated by its strange properties. When viewed from a very specific, non-Euclidean angle, the glass displays spiraling grooves that converge into a single, hypnotic point—a gateway to spatial recesses not meant for the human universe.
Suddenly, Robert vanishes without a trace from his locked chambers, leaving his teacher to solve an impossible disappearance. As Canevin investigates, he uncovers a terrifying cosmic secret: the mirror is not a mere reflection, but a trans-dimensional trap. It is a portal to a nightmarish, silent realm where time fractures, physical forms mutate, and lost souls are held in eternal stasis. To rescue the boy, Canevin must confront the lingering, predatory presence of Axel Holm—the mirror's original owner—who found a horrific way to conquer death at a ghastly price.
About H. P. Lovecraft
H. P. Lovecraft: “The Pioneer of Cosmic Horror”
He was born on August 20, 1890, in Providence, Rhode Island, Howard Phillips Lovecraft led a life deeply marked by tragedy, isolation, and financial hardship. Raised by a troubled family after both of his parents suffered mental breakdowns and died in psychiatric care, Lovecraft grew up as a sickly, reclusive child plagued by vivid night terrors.
He spent most of his youth immersed in dark literature and science, which heavily shaped his grim view of the world. Despite his immense talent, he lived much of his adult life in near-total poverty, working primarily as a ghostwriter and editor for pulp magazines like Weird Tales. He died of cancer in 1937 at the young age of 46, completely unrecognized by the mainstream literary world.
