Synopsis

A Brilliant Mind Stolen. A Blasphemous Matrimony. The Nightmare That Refuses to Stay Dead. Edward Derby is a gentle, highly sensitive poet gifted with a brilliant imagination but cursed with a weak, easily manipulated will. His quiet life in Arkham changes forever when he falls under the spell of Asenath Waite, a mysterious, dark-eyed woman from the infamous, decadent town of Innsmouth. Rumored to possess terrifying hypnotic powers inherited from her sinister late father, Asenath quickly isolates Edward from his closest friends, drawing him deep into a world of forbidden occult sciences and prehistoric blood rituals. But the true horror of their marriage is far worse than mere emotional manipulation. Soon, Edward’s closest friend, Daniel Upton, notices a ghastly transformation in the young poet. Edward undergoes sudden, violent shifts in personality, speaking in a deep, unfamiliar voice and staring with flat, dead eyes that belong to someone else. In moments of absolute terror and clarity, Edward begs Daniel for help, revealing a mind-shattering truth: Asenath is systematically tearing his soul out of his body, using ancient cosmic sorcery to hijack his physical flesh.

About H. P. Lovecraft

H. P. Lovecraft: “The Pioneer of Cosmic Horror” He was born on August 20, 1890, in Providence, Rhode Island, Howard Phillips Lovecraft led a life deeply marked by tragedy, isolation, and financial hardship. Raised by a troubled family after both of his parents suffered mental breakdowns and died in psychiatric care, Lovecraft grew up as a sickly, reclusive child plagued by vivid night terrors. He spent most of his youth immersed in dark literature and science, which heavily shaped his grim view of the world. Despite his immense talent, he lived much of his adult life in near-total poverty, working primarily as a ghostwriter and editor for pulp magazines like Weird Tales. He died of cancer in 1937 at the young age of 46, completely unrecognized by the mainstream literary world.
