The Lurking Fear

A Storm-Swept Mountain. A Forgotten Lineage. A Terror That Crawls in the Dark. Deep within the isolated, fog-covered peaks of Tempest Mountain, Catskill, lies a decaying colonial mansion abandoned by the eccentric Martense family decades ago. The local, superstitious mountain folk live in absolute terror of the summer storms, for whenever lightning strikes the peak, an invisible, ravenous horror descends from the heights, leaving behind a trail of brutally mutilated bodies and completely emptied villages. Driven by scientific curiosity and a desire to dismantle the local myths, an intrepid investigator and his team arrive at the ruined estate to spend a night during the season's violent tempests. But what they encounter defies human anatomy and reason. The horror is not a ghost, nor is it a phantom of the mind. As the walls of the mansion shake under the thunder, the team realizes that the entire mountain is hollowed out by a vast, shifting labyrinth of subterranean tunnels. Within these dark depths sleeps a prehistoric, degenerate abomination that awakens only to hunt under the cover of lightning.
