Synopsis
Kilkealy Ireland 1974, an ageing and terminally ill German arrives in a village in rural Ireland hoping to make amends for his past misgivings. Kilkealy Ireland 1940, a German fighter plane crashes in neutral Ireland during World War 2, the young pilot is cared for and given refuge by a kind farming family. In both instances a series of events are about to unfold that will shatter the lives of all involved forever. The German is a tale of romance, passion, betrayal, tragedy and forgiveness set over two generations of Ireland's history.
