My name is Siân Alison. I love making food look fancy with just ingredients I have in the house. It is intentionally not a recipe or cooking guide, it’s just a way to present food well, save some time cutting corners and a way for you to spend more time with your guests with less stress. If you are looking for professional techniques and recipes than this book is not the one for you. It's aimed at beginners who love to host at home. This is my first book so please be kind. I don’t work in the food industry I just have a passion for cooking and creating at home. I completed a HND in Languages (Spanish & German) & Tourism Management at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland. In 2010 I completed my BSc degree in International Tourism & Hospitality Management at the University of Sunderland in the North East of England. During my studies I worked in Hospitality (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes) and have picked up a few tips and food plating ideas from chefs which have helped me put ideas together for this book. I currently work in the tourism industry and live in Lower Austria. I was born in South Wales and moved to Scotland as a young child. I have also lived in the North East of England. I moved to Germany in early 2020 and now I'm living and working in Austria with my husband. Most of the dishes that feature in this book are European style. I hope I can give you some easy ideas to practice for your next dinner party.
