It wasn't in one imagination that a situation would come when one would feel the same feelings as a soldier who retreats in battle or fears from confrontation. It was not taken into account that there is a battle of another kind, more severe than the battle on the battlefield, which is the battle of the confused soul, between rejection and acceptance. It was unimaginable that it would come the day to write a book specifically about the Egyptian immigrant in Denmark. Denmark is by nature not a country for the diaspora, nor was immigration to it for the purpose of long-term stability. The number of Egyptian immigrants was only a small, unintegrated unit. The concepts of immigration and integration varied among them, which made it an incomplete experiment. But recently, the idea of writing about this experience has been suggested, and the urgency was mixed with a literary and historical duty. The phenomenon of the lack of integration of experience and the cultural and historical difference may have been among the reasons that attracted me to do this work, despite that.
