Synopsis
The Teacup Who Wanted to See the Sea - Tilly is a delicate, floral-patterned teacup who lives a very safe life on the highest shelf of a dusty antique shop. While the other dishes are content gossiping about the afternoon tea trends, Tilly spends her days staring out the window at the distant blue horizon, dreaming of the salt air and the crashing waves she’s only heard about in stories from an old sailor's mug. When a clumsy breeze and a series of fortunate mishaps land Tilly in the backpack of a traveling artist, her grand adventure finally begins. This whimsical tale takes readers on a journey across rolling hills and bustling cities as Tilly makes her way toward the ocean. Along the way, she learns that being "fragile" doesn't mean she isn't "strong." She faces her fears of being chipped or broken, discovering that the marks of a life well-lived are more beautiful than a pristine surface. Ideal for ages 5–8, the story focuses on the themes of bravery, wanderlust, and self-discovery. It encourages children to step outside their comfort zones and realize that the world is much bigger and more welcoming than the "shelf" they might feel stuck on.
