Hope and the allotment

Hope loves afternoons at the allotment with Grandad — the smell of warm soil, the whisper of growing things, and Grandad’s stories that seem to sprout as easily as the vegetables. But this year is different. This year, their little patch of earth is entering the Allotment Competition, and suddenly every carrot, cabbage, and crooked pumpkin matters.
