I was tempted to call this collection 'Rakings Up' after Ammon Wrigley's book, but I would be foolish to invite the comparison. It's a collection of pieces written over the years, some previously published. It's about growing up in Yorkshire and working in Lancashire, with some historical and biographical stuff. There's a lot about Christmas, a lot about drinking and a lot about libraries. There's even the odd story.
