Synopsis
In the land of Emberfall, where rivers steam and mountains breathe smoke, ancient legends speak of five elemental stones—artifacts of unimaginable power that bind the world together. Few believe these tales… until the night young Aric finds a dying guardian in the heart of the Ash Fields and accepts the burden of the Ruby of Fire.
The stone awakens something fierce inside him: a flame that can protect, or destroy. As whispers of the dark sorcerer Kael spread across the land, Aric learns a terrifying truth—Kael, wielder of the Shadow Stone, has returned, and he seeks to consume the fire now burning within the boy’s soul.
Under the guidance of Theron, a weary but wise mentor, Aric begins a dangerous journey. Each trial he faces—whether in sunless forests, poisoned marshes, or the molten heart of Mount Korrath—pushes him closer to his destiny. Alongside unexpected allies, Aric learns that mastering the Ruby means mastering himself. But as Kael’s shadow deepens, the line between power and corruption begins to blur.
Can one boy carry the weight of the world without losing who he is? Or will his gift become the weapon that destroys everything he loves?
About Youssef Khemiri
Youssef Khemiri discovered his love for storytelling at a young age, often filling notebooks with ideas about heroes, villains, and worlds filled with danger and magic. At just 13 years old, he turned that passion into The Ruby of Fire, the first book in his fantasy saga, Legends of the Five.
Youssef has always believed that stories are more than words on a page — they are sparks. A spark that can ignite courage, inspire hope, or make someone feel less alone. With The Ruby of Fire, he wanted to create not only an adventure about fire, ash, and survival, but also a journey of friendship, grief, and the strength to keep going when the world seems impossible.
Though he is still at the beginning of his writing journey, Youssef dreams big. He imagines readers around the world holding his books, losing themselves in Aric’s battles and victories, and carrying the story with them long after the last page.
