Synopsis
When Kinsale fisherman Seamie Cronin meets the love of his life in Irish American woman Emily Hogan and they plan their future together it appears that he has everything to live for, but nothing is as it seems. Haunted by the trauma of his childhood Seamie is on a path of self loathing that threatens to destroy him and all he holds dear. As he struggles for answers Seamie finds that they may lie in an ornament he used to make with his father, that of a model ship in a bottle. In his journey of self discovery he realises that in such an analogy he must find the solutions to his problems or be held captive in a state of self destruction forever. From the author of the German comes a story of tragedy, trauma, addiction, love, redemption and ultimately hope. Ship in a bottle is a psychoanalytical romantic drama that bravely navigates its way through the stormy seas of men’s mental health.
