Synopsis

1974 Kilkealy Ireland, an ageing and terminally ill German man arrives in a small rural village hoping to make amends for his past. 1940 Kilkealy Ireland, a German fighter plane crashes in neutral Ireland during the Battle of Britain. A young pilot survives and is cared for by a kind farming family. In both instances a series of events are about to occur which will ultimately shatter the lives of all involved. The German is a tale of drama, romance, betrayal, tragedy and forgiveness set over two eras of Ireland's history.

Padraig Cosgrave
Padraig Cosgrave lives in Co Waterford Ireland with his family where he works as a public servant. He has written a number of poems which have appeared on social media and he recently has released a book of his selected poems titled Mind and Body. The German is his first novel.
