Synopsis

Kilkealy, Ireland 1974, a mysterious, middle aged and terminally ill German man arrives in a small rural Irish village in the hope of making amends for his past. Kilkealy, Ireland 1940, a German fighter plane crashes in a neutral country during the Battle of Britain with a young pilot rescued from the wreckage. He takes refuge with a kind farming family. In both instances a sequence of events are about to occur that will shatter the lives of all involved forever. The German is a tale of drama, romance, betrayal, tragedy and forgiveness set over two eras of Ireland's history.

Padraig Cosgrave
Padraig Cosgrave lives in Co Waterford Ireland with his family where he works as a public servant. He has written a number of poems which have appeared on social media and he recently has released a book of his selected poems titled Mind and Body. The German is his first novel.
