About Theodora Slaughter Mackenzie Smith
At the age of thirteen years old, Theodora Slaughter and Mackenzie Smith started writing "In Him We Don't Trust," Which is slightly based on true events. The pair grew up in Virginia, much like where the book takes place, in Roanoke. Slaughter excelled in English and the Arts from a young age, getting recognized left and right for how she tackled dark subjects that many young teenagers know nothing of. She grew up with four brothers, turning to literature as an escape from all of the ruckus. Smith, on the other hand, channels her dark past into creativity, using her past to help her write about mental illness, substance abuse, and much more. They're both now fourteen and attending high school.
